Step Right Up, Get Yer Splendiferous Blog Posts

Concession stand signsMy previous post, What Have I Learned at Work?, was written for a blog carnival masterminded by Dave Ferguson and hosted this time around by Manish Mohan. For readers not familiar with the “carnival” concept, it basically means a bunch of bloggers agreeing to post about the same general topic on the same day. One blogger serves as host and points to all the other bloggers’ postings. The general topic for this one is Work at Learning/Learning at Work.

I didn’t manage to get my act together and participate the first time around, and now that I am participating, I have to say I am amazed at the company I am keeping. If you are looking for great thinking on e-learning and learning in general, some of the best minds are part of this carnival. Here’s a quick run down of the participants.

  • Rupa Rajagoplan
  • Viplav Baxi
  • Dave Ferguson
  • Harold Jarche
  • Geetha Krishnan
  • Sonali Malik
  • Ken Carroll
  • Clive Shepherd
  • Cathy Moore
  • Michele Martin
  • Karl Kapp
  • Janet Clarey
  • Manish Mohan
  • Cammy Bean

I won’t give the run down on what everyone has written about. That’s Manish’s job. So what are you waiting for? Step right over to Manish’s blog and grab the links to all these great blog posts. You might even find funnel cakes there.

Actually, the theme for this carnival is always “work at learning; learning at work.” The original idea was to have a theme broad enough to give participants lots of scope, but not quite as broad as “western half of the galaxy.”

Between the two carnivals thus far, we’ve had about 20 points. The variety of opinions and levels of focus is exactly what such a carnival is supposed to produce.

Next carnival in May sounds good…

Dave- Thanks for the clarification. I don’t mean to imply that the theme was confined to just this round of the carnival. And congrats on having started a great ball rolling! - Jeff

No worries, Jeff — mostly I chimed in for other interested parties who might drop by. Under the working/learning umbrella, there’s plenty of room for everyone.
